Jesse Lee Peterson is an American radio host, author, media personality, and conservative activist. He is known mainly for his daily radio program, The Jesse Lee Peterson Show. Before starting his radio show, Jesse Lee Peterson began working for civil rights programs to improve relations between police officers and black men. He served as an unpaid volunteer for several years with the City of Los Angeles’ Community Relations Department under Mayor Tom Bradley. He was responsible for tackling gang violence and drug-related problems in South Los Angeles. His work led him to be hired by Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS). That has the purpose of helping train Baptist ministers how to do community work. In the early 1990s, Peterson entered public life as a leader in the anti-gang movement. And brought about a gang truce between blacks and Latinos in Los Angeles.
